Feb. 19
* Virginia Way: A vehicle theft of sunglasses, 50 CDs and an
organizer was reported in the 31600 block at 12:27 p.m. The loss was
valued at $1,200. A window was smashed to gain entry.
* Laguna Canyon Road: A woman reported her wallet missing in the
20500 block at 1:43 p.m.. She told police that she drove off, leaving
it on top of her vehicle, and it was gone when she returned.
* Louise Street: Annoying telephone calls have been coming to a
resident in the 1600 block at 8 p.m. for more than a year, it was
reported at 3:16 p.m. The victim wants a trap on the line.
* South Coast Highway: Police arrested a 21-year-old Mission
Viejo man on suspicion of defrauding an innkeeper in the 1700 block
at 6:25 p.m. He was taken to Harbor Court in lieu of $500 bail.
* Sunset: A 20-year old Colorado man was arrested at 6:33 p.m. on
suspicion of soliciting door-to-door without a license in the 32000
block. He had been contacted earlier by police and cited. The man
posted $100 bail and was released.
Feb. 20
* Glenneyre Street: A trash-collection truck mashed the driver’s
side of a 2002 Jaguar in the 1200 block, it was reported at 9:21 a.m.
Police held the Waste Management driver at fault for leaving down the
truck’s mechanical arms, which pick up and dump the trash cans. *
Alta Vista Way: Earrings, a ring and a watch, valued at $16,500, were
reported missing in the 400 block at 12:21 p.m. The jewelry was last
seen in November, but the victim had not realized it was missing. *
Cliff Drive: Someone entered a resident’s garage, riffled through
some boxes and padlocked the garage in the 200 block, it was reported
at 1:25 p.m. Nothing was missing. * Victoria Beach: A dead seal was
spotted about one-half mile south of the ramp, it was reported at
1:26 p.m.
* Santa Rosa Avenue: A resident in the 31600 block discovered a
collection notice from a cell phone company on a credit report, it
was reported at 4:43 p.m. The victim claimed never to have used the
company.
Feb. 21
* Bluebird Canyon Drive: Notice was left at 8:55 a.m. for illegal
use of a blower in the 800 block.
* Aliso Circle: Public Works removed graffiti from a retaining
wall by the pedestrian crossing in the 31000 block, it was reported
at 12:53 p.m.
* Katella Street: A gardener was advised not to use a blower in
the 900 block, it was reported at 2:01 p.m. He said he hadn’t.
Saturday
* Cleo Street: A 32-year-old La Mirada man was arrested on
suspicion of possessing a controlled substance and giving false
identification to a police officer and on a no-bail warrant in the
200 block at 3:09 a.m. He was taken to Orange County Jail. *
Bluebird Canyon Drive: Tools valued at $300 were taken from the bed
of a parked truck in the 1400 block, it was reported at 11:50 a.m.
