CITY HALL

Here are a few of the decisions from Monday’s Planning Commission

meeting:

DESIGN REVIEW PROCEDURES

Staff members have been reviewing the city’s standards and design

review procedures to make them more clear and consistent and take the

subjectivity out of the process. The review comes a year and a half

after standards were adopted that require every second-story addition

to pass muster on its compatibility and harmony with the

neighborhood, even if it meets all of the other standards.

WHAT HAPPENED

The issue was continued until March 10.

AUTO SALES CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT

A car lot owner wanted a conditional use permit to legalize

automobile sales and leasing with on-site vehicle storage display and

detailing at 1545 Newport Blvd.

WHAT HAPPENED

The commission continued the issue until March 24 to give the

applicant more time.
