Featuring a two artist show by Andre Lohnert and Randy Ray with a

pre-Art Walk party and artist reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Lohnert

received his art training in Slovakia and has been living and

exhibiting in Southern California for 20 years now. Lohnert will be

showing his figurative work using oils on canvas. His approach using

oil and gold leaf was influenced by Bizantine artists. Ray will

exhibit oil and acrylic paintings and giclee prints using Laguna,

Italy and France as his subjects. His city-scapes uncover the essence

of their lights, revealing their similarities. The gallery is

directed by Fitz Maurice. The Sawdust Festival and Festival of Arts

are on continuous exhibit through this program. For information, call

On Saturday, February 1 from 5 to 10 p.m. there will be a special

book signing event, “The Magic of Shine” featuring works by Joachim

Haupt with artist in attendance. Haupt will be explaining the

extraordinary techniques and details of his unusual paintings. The

evening will include music, fun, food and wine galore. The gallery

features artwork by German artist Joachim Haupt. He is known for the

modern abstract mixed-media technique that he developed called

“lacquer foil art” that incorporates lacquer, gold and silver leaf,

acrylic paint, abalone shells, eggshells and mother of pearl to bring

the painting to life. The gallery also features selective sculptures

of internationally known artists, as well as collectible art.
