A small slice of greatness

As kids, we all loved pizza. What’s there not to love? There’s

cheese pizza, meat pizza, vegetable pizza, etc. The possibilities are

endless. Chocolate pizza? You betcha.

So it should come as no surprise to anyone that an intelligent

Adams Elementary fifth-grader would go out of his way to ensure that

he and his classmates could continue to buy and eat pizza once a week

at school.

It seems Aaron Ludlow’s school stopped serving the delicious meal

weekly and instead began offering it every other week. But once the

11-year-old discovered the school’s change of practice, he set out

and circulated a petition that 371 of his fellow students signed.

Not only were the signatures enough to bring back the original

pizza schedule, but Chuck E. Cheese caught wind of the matter and

donated 100 large cheese pizzas to Aaron and his classmates. The

Cheese even stopped by to congratulate Aaron for his efforts.

We can only suspect that Aaron will someday become mayor

somewhere, but in the meanwhile, his efforts should be an example --

to those young and old -- about how much of a difference an

individual can make.
