Marcus
Marcus is a 10-week-old orange kitten that was born with a
herniated diaphragm that results in labored breathing. He needs a
veterinarian specialist to fashion a new diaphragm for him that will
correct his problem.
The Community Animal Network, an animal rescue organization in
Newport Beach, is unable to afford the procedure and hasn’t been able
to negotiate a discounted fee for the specialized surgery, said
DiAnna Pfaff-Martin, founder of the group.
Marcus was introduced to the community at Fashion Island over the
weekend, and a fund has been started in his name, she said. The
organization has already received $500 in donations to fund the
kitten’s surgery and is hoping for enough to give him a happy and
long life.
Donations may be sent to The Community Animal Network, noted “The
Marcus Fund” at P.O. Box 8662, Newport Beach, CA 92658. Donations are
tax deductible and go only to veterinary medical services, supplies
and care for the animals.
Holiday kittens are still available.
