‘The Nutcracker’

Laguna Ballet will present its 17th annual “Nutcracker”

performance Saturday and Sunday at Laguna Beach High School’s

Artists’ Theatre at 625 Park Ave. Performances will be at 2 and 7

p.m. Saturday and at 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults,

$13 for seniors and children. For tickets, call 855-0331.

Woody’s at the Beach

Christmas Eve candlelight dinner with seatings from 5 to 9 p.m.,

five courses, $30 per person. New Year’s Eve dinner with seatings at

8:30 and 10 p.m., six courses, $75 per person, includes champagne

toast at midnight and complimentary hats and party favors. There will

also be a New Year’s Eve countdown celebration from 10 p.m. to

midnight with no cover. Woody’s is at 1305 S. Coast Highway,

Laguna Culinary Arts

On Dec. 27, Laguna Culinary Arts will have a class on elegant New

Year’s Eve entertaining at 6 p.m. Participants will prepare artichoke

bleu cheese bisque, whole roasted beef tenderloin with port reduction

sauce and more. The class is $70 per person and is at 550 S. Coast

Neighborhood Congregational Church

Christmas Eve service at 7 p.m. and Sunday service at 10 a.m., led

by Pastor Rev. Dr. Tari Lennon and Associate Pastor Rev. Kel

Henderson. The church is at 340 St. Ann’s Drive, 494-8061.

Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach

Christmas Eve service at 5:30 p.m. starting with carols and

readings about anticipation, miracles, wonder and love. Musical

selections with soloists, a trumpet corps, trombone and piano are

followed by carols by candlelight. The church is at 429 Cypress

Laguna Beach United Methodist Church

Christmas Eve worship at 7:30 p.m. Message by Rev. Virginia

Wheeler. Beautiful, meaningful music performed by the Chancel Choir

Ensemble with accompaniment by trumpets, flute, oboe and hand bells.

Candle lighting and free-will offering. A second Christmas Eve

worship is at 11 p.m., led by Rev. Wheeler, with special music with

piano, organ, oboe and chimes. Joyful Noise Praise Band, communion,

Laguna Presbyterian Church

Dec. 22: Fourth Sunday of Advent sermon by Dr. Jerry Tankersley --

9 a.m. traditional “Lessons & Carols” children’s and chancel choirs,

chamber ensemble, plus a program for children age 3 through third

grade, toddler and nursery care. 11 a.m. Contemporary “Lessons &

Carols” -- praise ensemble at 11 a.m., plus a workshop for children

age 3 to third grade. Nursery and toddler care provided. Christmas

Eve candlelight services at 5, 7 and 11 p.m., with child care except

for the 11 p.m. service. Dec. 29: communion service at 9 a.m. by

Steve Sweet. Dec. 31: New Year’s Eve Communion service at 5 p.m. by

Christmas Eve candlelight service at 9 p.m. with refreshments and

fellowship before and after the service. The church is an open and

affirming to the gay and lesbian community with Sunday services at 10
