Maxine B. Cohen will host a workshop for men and women going

A holiday concert with jazz and blues performer Darvy Traylor will

be held from 5 to 11 p.m. at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel and

Tennis Club. The concert will also include dinner and dancing. A

portion of the proceeds will benefit Youth Employment Services of the

Harbor Area Inc. The hotel is at 900 Newport Center Drive. $75 per

Those who want to watch the Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade

can do so aboard the 1812 Privateer Lynx from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the

A public cruise of the Newport Harbor Parade of Lights will be

available from 6 to 10 p.m. through Luxury Yacht Cruises. The cruise

MONDAY

The Holiday Market Place, also known as the Orange County Market

Place, at the Orange County Fairgrounds will offer free admission

today. Santa will be around for photos. The Market Place at the

Orange County Fairgrounds is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A Winter Teen Camp will run Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to

5:30 p.m. today through Jan. 3 at the Downtown Recreation Center in

Costa Mesa. The camp, which is sponsored by the City of Costa Mesa’s

Recreation Division, is for teens going into the seventh, eighth and

ninth grades and will include trips to Magic Mountain, Knott’s Berry

Farm and the Aquarium of the Pacific. The center is at 1860 Anaheim

TUESDAY

The Costa Mesa Senior Center will hold its second annual Christmas

Eve Brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center. The event will

include brunch, a visit and photo opportunity with Santa and music by

The Newport Mesa Christian Center will present “The Bellringer” at

4 and 6 p.m. at the center in Costa Mesa. “The Bellringer” is an

One of the cast members from the show “Seussical the Musical” will

be at Borders Books Music and Cafe in South Coast Plaza at 11 a.m. to

read Seussical-related stories. During this special story time, there
