Hobies gains forfeit victory

Hobies remained a game back of league leader Courtesy Auto Body in

the Fall League standings after receiving a 7-0 forfeit victory from

Sofa Kings in the city of Laguna Beach sponsored men’s 16 slow pitch

softball weekly action at Riddle Field.

Hobies was one of two teams to be awarded a 7-0 forfeit victory.

Ganahl Lumber recorded the same at the expense of Sandpiper.

In the only “official” game played, Good, Bad and Ugly and Team

Viagra played to a 9-9, seven-inning tie.

Good, Bad and Ugly earned the tie by mounting a sixth-inning

comeback behind Tom Besmis’ home run and a triple by Robert Stewart.

The two hits each drove in three runs.

Stewart also doubled and tripled in the game, and Besmis singled

twice.

Nate Pivaroff tripled and singled three times, Dave Brobeck

doubled with two singles, and Dave Mulvaney hit a home run and

doubled to lead Team Viagra.
