1Last of the summer beach flicks. The Newport Dunes Waterfront

Resort Hotel will show “Mrs. Doubtfire” on the beach. The showing

will begin at dusk. Newport Dunes is at 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport

SUNDAY

2Get the Balboa Blues. Anthony’s Riverboat Restaurant in Newport

Beach will present the Balboa Blues for dancing and listening fun on

Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Anthony’s is at

MONDAY

3Go to the beach. It’s Labor Day, the last great hurrah of summer.

Take your beach blanket, put on your swimsuit, get on your bike (if

you’re close enough) and pedal to the seashore. Enjoy the sun while

it lasts. And eat a chocolate banana if you’re near Balboa Island.

TUESDAY

4Get into the groove. “The Full Monty” will open Tuesday at the

Orange County Performing Arts Center, 600 Town Center Drive, Costa

Mesa. Show times are 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 2 and 8 p.m.

Saturday and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Sunday through Sept. 15. $27.50-$64.50.

5Find Common Ground. The Rusty Pelican offers the music of Common

Ground from Wednesday through Sunday. The band will perform from 7 to
