For more than two decades The Trading Post has specialized in

ceiling fans. “We have the largest working display of ceiling fans in

California, and possibly the country,” says owner Gil Schauer. “Our

fans vary from tropical to modern, traditional to European design and

new animal prints.”

The showroom has unique ceiling fans that that you probably have

never seen before.

“There’s new technology that wasn’t even around two or three years

ago,” says Schauer. “We have a jelly fish fan hung by cables that you

can see through.”

There are two sales a year, called the Casablanca truckload sale,

at the beginning of July and near Labor Day. Almost everything in the

store is reduced during the sale, which is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday

through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. on

You’ll feel like you’re in Hawaii at Bamboo Ben’s newly expanded

Lucci’s, a family favorite since 1946, is the best local Italian

market that’s got everything -- a deli, bakery, sandwich shop,

for Lifestyles in Huntington Beach. Robert Glass, an optometrist says

that he charges $99 for the Wild Eyes contact lenses. The lenses,

ideal for Halloween, come in bizarre eye looks like White-Out, Cat

Eye, Wild Fire, Red Hot, Ice Fire, Hypnotica, Knockout, Zoomin and

Alien.

Glass says that his company is not known as a bargain outlet, but

it does offer competitive prices and the finest quality care and
