Splash wins crown
Costa Mesa’s Splash Aquatics, a year-round swim program based at
Estancia High, defeated Dolphin Aquatics of Laguna Niguel, Swim Team
of Placentia and South Coast Aquatics Team to take the championship
of the Orange County Swim Conference Division 2 Finals Sunday.
Repeating their championship conquest of a year ago, more than 35
Splash swimmers also qualified for the Orange County Swim Conference
championship meet held Tuesday at El Toro High, where Splash was
fourth overall.
Only the top 10 swimmers in all divisions qualified to compete at
the championships.
“We have a great group of kids this summer and we hope many of
them decide to keep swimming through the fall and winter,” said Coach
Cynthia Bandaruk.
Splash also sent five swimmers to the Southern California Junior
Olympics in Santa Maria.
