Festival to release Eclectic Orange CD this month
Organizers of the Eclectic Orange Festival will introduce and
release a CD sampler with music to be featured at the festival during
a launch party at 5 p.m. Aug. 20 at Z’ Tejas Restaurant at South
Coast Plaza, 3333 Bear St., Costa Mesa.
Guests can listen to music but also watch a video preview of
Theatre Zingaro’s centerpiece performance for the festival.
The CD includes previews of “Latinworks,” which is what organizers
call a “festival-within-a-festival” focusing on the Latin American
music scene and an interactive segment of Theatre Zingaro’s program.
To get on the festival’s guest list for the launch party, log on
to www.EclecticOrange.org or call (949) 553-2422.

Museum to offer final summer jazz concert
The final concert for the Orange County Museum of Art’s second
annual Summer Jazz Series will be offered for free on Aug. 16, thanks
to concert sponsor Jaguar.
The Alex Iles Quartet will perform a mix of jazz standards
starting at 5:30 p.m. that night. Trombonist Iles is known for having
performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Pacific Symphony
orchestras. He has also played with Henry Mancini, Natalie Cole,
Harry Connick Jr. and other musical celebrities.
Jaguar will accompany the music with a groovy car display outside
the museum, as the company has agreed to exhibit the Jaguar XKE that
was used in “Austin Powers in Goldmember.”
The museum is at 850 San Clemente Drive, Newport Beach.
