COSTA MESA

* Bristol Street: A 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of

embezzlingfrom a South Coast Plaza retailer at 6 p.m. Friday.

* Center Street and Wallace Avenue: A 26-year-old man was arrested on

suspicion of evading police and driving under the influence of drugs and

alcohol near the intersection at 12:32 a.m. Saturday. Once stopped,

officers also arrested him for allegedly driving without a license or

proof of insurance.

* Fairview Road and Wakeforest Road: A 48-year-old man was arrested on

suspicion of evading the police near the intersection at 4:02 p.m.

Friday.

* Newport Boulevard: Two men were arrested on suspicion of possessing

a controlled substance in the 1800 block at 12:55 a.m. Saturday.

* Newport Boulevard: A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of

possessing a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and being under

the influence of a controlled substance in the 2500 block at 1:01 a.m.

Friday.

* Orange Avenue: A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of

assaulting and battering a police officer in the 1900 block at 3:50 p.m.

Friday.

NEWPORT BEACH

* Balboa Boulevard and 13th Street: Vandalism was reported near the

intersection at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

* Cedar Street: Prowler noises were reported in the 200 block at 2:34

a.m. Saturday.

* Coast Highway West: Vandalism was reported in the 2500 block at 9:57

a.m. Saturday.

* Court Avenue: A burglary was reported in the 200 block at 10:39 a.m.

Saturday.

* Main Street and Ocean Front: A disturbance was reported near the

intersection at 11:12 a.m. Saturday.

* Medina Way: A suspect was arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary

in the 300 block at 3:58 a.m. Saturday.

* Poinsettia Avenue: A vehicle burglary was reported in the 600 block

at 8:33 a.m. Saturday.

* 29th Street: A residential burglary was reported in the 200 block at

8:04 a.m. Saturday.

* 40th Street: A residential burglary was reported in the 400 block at

10:59 a.m. Saturday.
