H.B. Untouchables win tourney
The H.B. Untouchables put the finishing touches on a successful run in
the 2002 Memorial Day Classic Sunday by blanking Woodland Hills, 2-0, in
the tournament final played at UC Irvine.
Kristen Marony scored both goals against a Woodland Hills squad that
had not been scored upon in previous tournament action. Kimya Jafroudi
preserved the shutout with eight saves, which were all diving saves in
the fourth quarter.
The AYSO Region girls’ Under-10 Division select soccer team dominated
the tournament, outscoring its opponents, 16-2. Marony, Devon Shinn,
Sarah Wilkinson and Sarah Howey combined to score all 16 goals.
The Untouchables (11-4-2) will compete this weekend in the Irvine Cup.
