Academic talent search taps 5 students
Five children from Harbor Day School in Corona del Mar were recognized
by a national talent search.
The Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth honored the
fifth- and sixth-graders because of their stellar academic abilities.
The students scored in the 97th percentile or higher on school
standardized tests. They then took additional above-grade-level exams to
provide further information about their verbal and mathematical reasoning
abilities.
The center identifies America’s top students in fifth through eighth
grades and provides programs, services and resources to help them make
the most of their abilities.
The students are Nicole Wagner, fifth grade; Blaine Bolus, fifth
grade; Olivia Fankuchen, fifth grade; Peter Fankuchen, sixth grade; and
Hayley Pappas, sixth grade.
