JC golf: OCC’s Carrasco seventh at state finals
MURRIETA - Orange Coast College sophomore golfer Lou Carrasco
finished his OCC career shooting 74-74--148, good for seventh place in a
field of 12 golfers vying for the individual state title at the 36-hole
State Community College Championship at the par 72-SCGA Members Course in
Murrieta Monday.
The Costa Mesa High graduate finished four strokes behind the medalist
from College of the Desert, said OCC Coach Barry Wallace.
“It was bunched up there, but a great tournament for Lou Carrasco to
end his community college golf career,” Wallace said.
Battling hot temperatures, Carrasco birdied four holes, had two double
bogeys and four bogeys.
“It was very hot and very demanding, a hilly course,” Wallace said.
College of the Canyons won the team title Monday.
