Pipeline to be replaced on Diamond Street
Mary A. Castillo
The Laguna Beach County Water District has begun work to replace a
portion of its cast-iron water pipeline under Diamond Street between
Summit Drive and Gainsborough Drive and in portions of Summitt Drive.
This project is part of the Water District’s ongoing program to enhance
fire-flow and improve the overall reliability of the water distribution
system.
“Preliminary work began early this week,” said Jim Nestor, district
engineer. “We anticipate the work will be completed in four weeks.”
The streets are scheduled to remain open to the pedestrian traffic at
all times. Customers will be notified individually and in advance if it
is necessary to temporarily interrupt water service.
Construction will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through
Friday.
