The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is holding a

community spring cleaning Saturday, April 27. The day begins at 7:30 a.m.

head out into the community to tackle various projects at the Shipley

nature Center, Oak View Elementary School, Central park and Golden West

WEDNESDAY

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 53 will offer a four-lesson

course in boating safety at 6 p.m. Wednesdays starting May 1. Classes

will be held at the Boat U.S. Marine Center, 16390 Pacific Coast Highway.

The course is designed for the limited-classroom-time boater, personal

watercraft operators and covers introduction to boating laws, safety

equipment, navigation rules followed by a Certificate of Completion. Fee

The American Association of University Women, Huntington Beach branch

is holding an authors luncheon and silent auction. The guest author and

comedian will be Dan Barton. The event is on Saturday May 18 at 11 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit the group’s nonprofit educational foundation. The

The Huntington Beach American Legion Post 133 meets the third

PARENTING/FAMILY

The Huntington Beach Mothers Club has play groups every day for moms

looking to get together with other moms and toddlers in the area. The

The North Huntington Beach Mom’s Club Playgroup will meet weekly

throughout Huntington Beach parks. Playgroups will meet at 3 p.m.

The Moms Offering Moms Support Club, a nonprofit support group for

stay-at-home mothers, organizes daily activities for mothers and their

The Pacific Coast Mothers Club, based in the Huntington Beach area, is

actively seeking new members. The group offers stay-at-home and employed

Marriage Therapists is sponsoring a weekly education workshop for couples

and families. The first topic of the free workshop is “The Five Laws of

Jewish Family Service offers free ongoing bereavement support groups
