CLASSROOM SPACE AT WHITTIER

The growing population at Whittier Elementary School is expected to

cause a shortage of classroom space for the upcoming school year.

What to expect:

District officials will consider approving the addition of a

relocatable building at the school.

SEWER LINE EASEMENT

At the last meeting, the school board approved a resolution expressing

its intent to convey an easement to the Orange County Sanitation District

for the purpose of constructing a public sewer line. The sanitation

district has proposed abandoning a portion of a sewer line that is not on

the Costa Mesa High School campus. But if it is abandoned, a new leg of

the sewer line will have to be built to run east-west between Fairview

Road and the existing north-south campus line. It has been proposed to

run along the northern boundary of the campus adjacent to the city soccer

field area. Once it is constructed, it will be turned over to the Costa

Mesa Sanitary District.

What to expect:

District officials will consider granting the easement.
