Huntington Beach to ask fifth-graders, ‘What is your favorite thing to do

on the weekends and why?’

‘Snowboarding because I love the snow. This past weekend my family and

I went to Lake Tahoe. It’s my favorite place to go snowboarding, but it’s

a long drive.’

Rachel Dehaan, 11

‘Play tennis because I like it and it’s a fun sport. I’ve been playing

since I was 6. I play both singles and doubles and I’m on a team that has

matches on the weekends.’

Melissa Cecil, 11

‘Play basketball because it’s my favorite sport. I’ve been playing it

for five years. I play the high-post and the middle. Our team has games

on Sundays.’

Megan Alexander, 11

‘Go over to my friend Andrew’s house. We like to play baseball in the

frontyard.’

Devin Perkins, 10

‘Playing almost any sport or go to the beach because I love the water.

Sometimes I Boogie board and sometimes bodysurf. But I haven’t been since

December.’
