PLANNING COMMISSION WRAP-UP

WHAT HAPPENED:

The planning commission unanimously voted to continue the public

hearing on the Robert Mayer Corporation’s request to build 184 attached

multifamily homes on 22.6 acres behind the Hilton Waterfront Resort.

WHAT IT MEANS:

The item was continued because there was not sufficient notice to

residents of the public hearing on the project, which is in an area of

the coastal zone that allows for appeals, said project planner Paul Da

Veiga.

The tentative plan includes a one-acre parcel of wetlands and a

2.4-acre plot proposed as a buffer between the wetlands and the

development.

Robert Mayer Corporation also requests to do on-site grading and build

retaining walls up to five feet high along the southern portions of

Pacific View Drive.

The proposed project is for a mixture of 3,000-square-foot Paseo homes

and two-story, 2,000-square-foot townhomes set up around courtyards.
