Surf and Sun
WEATHER FORECAST
While you may have frozen in your beds overnight, it’ll warm up this
sunny afternoon -- if only a little. Highs will reach 60 in Newport-Mesa,
though it should feel warmer. In other words, you can skip the excessive
layers of clothing. Lows, too, are warming up and will stay a tad above
40 tonight.
Expect continued sunshine Friday, with slightly warmer temperatures. A
few clouds will scatter, but pay them no mind; they’re powerless in
Newport-Mesa. Highs and lows will continue to warm on this very sunny
weekend. Enjoy it. If you miss the cold, hit the mountains.

BOATING FORECAST
In the inner waters, the winds will blow light today, with 2-foot
winds and a 2-foot swell. Not much change this evening.
Out farther, the northeasterly winds will blow a light 5 to 15 knots
this afternoon, with 2-foot waves and a northwest swell of 4 to 6 feet.
Winds will ease even more this evening.
SURF
If you like swimming on your back or wading on top of the ocean water,
today’s the day to hit those extremely flat waves. Yep, no waves is no
surf. Friday’s looking similar, though the latest northwest swell
Saturday should show marked improvement.
