The nation’s No. 1 Mercedes-Benz dealership, located in Newport Beach,

set a sales record for 2001.

Fletcher Jones Motorcars surpassed original projections and had total

sales of nearly $424 million, a 24% increase for sales of new and used

cars.

December saw 675 vehicles sold compared with 527 for the month in

2000.

Among the new models in 2001 were the G500, a $72,500 high-performance

off-road model; the $39,115 C320 Sport Wagon; and the 192-horsepower C230

Kompressor Sports Coupe.

New models coming out this year include redesigned versions of the

E-Class sedan and SL500 Roadster, which will have a retractable hardtop

roof and a computer-controlled brake system.

Fletcher Jones Motorcars is at 3300 Jamboree Road and features a

180,000-square-foot glass showroom, a coffee/cappuccino bar, work

stations with telephones and computer hookups, and a full-service

collision repair center.
