Women’s basketball: Lions top Warriors
The Vanguard University women’s basketball team took a 12-point
lead early and held on to earn a 64-45 victory over visiting Westmont in
a Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball game Tuesday.
The Lions (3-4, 2-2 in the GSAC) held the Warriors to only four points
after 13 minutes of play to open the game.
Vanguard took a 27-13 lead at halftime and went on to take a 25-point
lead late in the contest.
Debbie Candelaria scored 11 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the
Lions while Robbin Dittenbir added 10 points and seven rebounds. Kelly
Boeke and Lacey Mills each had nine points and Sonia N’Dri contributed
with eight rebounds.
