Girls basketball: CdM earns first win
CORONA DEL MAR - The Corona del Mar High girls basketball team
outscored visiting Los Amigos, 37-19, in the first half en route to a
61-53 nonleague victory Thursday.
Junior Jackie McCoy led the Sea Kings (1-1) with 16 points, while junior Madison Otterbein added 12 and senior Courtney Kawata and junior
Lucy Ramsey contributed 10 points each. CdM senior guard Andrea Gruber
ignited the defense with five steals and on offense she dished out five
assists and scored seven points to deal Los Amigos a loss in its opener.
The Sea Kings return to action Monday at 6:30 p.m, when they will face
Garden Grove in the Troy Tournament.
