Boys water polo: Harbor splits two games

MISSION VIEJO - The Newport Harbor boys 18-and-under water polo

team, featuring mostly players who will compete in the fall under Sailors

Coach Bill Barnett, defeated Laguna Hills, 9-7, in a consolation game

Sunday in the Capistrano Valley Tournament at Saddleback College.

Newport Harbor also lost to Capo Valley, 10-9, Sunday.

Michael Bury scored seven goals in the two contests for Harbor, while

Nathan Weiner accounted for two goals in the win over Laguna Hills.

Newport’s Brent Armstrong had four steals, one assist and one goal

against Laguna Hills, while Ross Sinclair, Thomas Butman and Michael

Vanderburg added one goal each for Harbor. Nathan McLain recorded seven

saves.
