The Trilogy Playhouse will hold auditions from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

Tuesday for the family theater production “Anne of Green Gables.” The

play by Joseph Robinette is based on the book by L.M. Montgomery about

the adventures of an orphaned girl on Prince Edward Island.

The large cast calls for four children ages 6 to 12, 10 females from

13 to 20, five females 30 to 50, two males 13 to 20 and seven males 30 to

50.

The show will open Aug. 10, and all roles are open.

Philharmonic Society gets education endowment

The Philharmonic Society of Orange County recently announced a new

endowment fund for education programs.

Made possible by $350,000 from the Camille M. Durand trust, the fund

is called the Camille and Eric Durand Youth Education Endowment Fund.

Camille Durand, who passed away last year, was a member of the Society’s

Tustin Committee and a community activist who supported local arts

groups.

Newport Beach to hold auditions for “Annie”

The Newport Beach Theater Company will hold auditions from 2 to 5 p.m.

June 16 and from noon to 4 p.m. July 17 for its summer production of

“Annie.” The musical tells the story of an orphaned girl and the

curmudgeonly rich man who adopts her.

Auditions will be held at Coco’s Conference Center, 4647 MacArthur

Blvd., Newport Beach. Actors should bring sheet music in the appropriate

key and wear comfortable clothes to move in. The show will open Aug. 17.

Dance or sing for ‘Fever’ tickets

The Orange County Performing Arts Center will hold two contests to

encourage fans of “Saturday Night Fever,” at the Center June 26 to July

8, to sing and dance for free tickets.

A disco dancing competition will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday

at the Crazy Horse at the Irvine Spectrum, 71 Fortune Drive. The

finalists from that competition will dance again June 16 to win tickets.

Contestants will be judged on their attire and dancing.

Contestants who prefer vocalizing to grooving may enter the Sing for

Your Seat contest from 6 to 9 p.m. June 23 at The Block at Orange, at The

City Drive between Chapman Avenue and the Garden Grove Freeway.

Contestants will be able to select from five karaoke songs. Prizes

include tickets, CDs and T-shirts.
