CMNLL: Cardinals fare well at Fountain Valley Tournament
FOUNTAIN VALLEY - The Cardinals’ Costa Mesa National Little League
under-10 team had a very busy weekend at the Fountain Valley Invitational
Memorial Day Youth Baseball Tournament.
Using just five Sunday’s worth of practices, the Cardinals played five
games over three days, facing teams from as far away as Torrance, Los
Alamitos and Encino.
“Even though most of the teams at the invitational played more
aggressive baseball, more like the big leagues vs. the little leagues,
our kids held their own and played very well,” Manager Bill Evans said.
“They had great attitudes, good hustle and represented Costa Mesa well.
Their conduct was extraordinary and the experience they gained from this
tournament will be invaluable as they return to their little league
teams.”
