Women’s Tennis: OCC builds strength at tourney
CHULA VISTA - The Orange Coast College women’s tennis team took to
the courts, Saturday, after rain ended the first day of competition at
the 12-team Southwestern Tournament.
OCC freshmen Veronica Sommer, Stephanie Chang, Vanessa Mai and
Raphaela Bohm picked up victories to advance to today’s semifinals.
In doubles, Pirates sophomore Sondra McNamara teamed with freshman
Kristen Lawson to earn a match in the finals today at Southwestern
College, weather permitting.
If rain cancels the final day of the tourney, play will be postponed
until Saturday.
