Girls Hoops: Mesa shoots down Bell
ARTESIA - Behind a career-high 13 points by senior Barbara Trejo,
the Costa Mesa High girls basketball team defeated Bell in the second
round of consolation at the Artesia Tournament Tuesday, 59-31.
Trejo also recorded eight steals. And teammate Nancy Hatsushi was,
what Mesa Coach Jim Weeks called, “just her usual self.”
Hatsushi also scored 13 points. And she dished out eight assists and
snagged six steals.
The Mustangs will resume play on Thursday at 4 p.m. at Artesia High
against Nogales or Britannia, a Canadian entry.
