AYSO Region 97: Nightmares blank Blue Angels

The Nightmares, an AYSO Region 97 girls under 12 soccer team,

defeated the Blue Angels, 2-0, in the division championship on Saturday.

Lily Dierkes scored both goals for the Nightmares on assists from

Rachel Foster and Bridget Gleason.

In goal, the Nightmares were led by Clea O’Kieffe and Jena Riggio,

while Elizabeth Wheeler, Karli Kuhns and Kelly Morrison sparked the

defense.

Strong all-around play was turned in by Alyssa Martin, Krysten White,

Shaina Giffing, Krista Campbell, Marie Kapelke and Claire Twena.

In boys under 10 action:

Raptors 3, Tsunami 2 - William Munoz scored all three goals to lead

the Raptors to the boys under 10 title.

Assisting on Munoz’s goals were Chase Pennington and Andrew Taylor,

while Jay Ordaz, Jack Yeager, Dane Sequeira and Jason Harris anchored the

Raptors’ defense.

Goalies Eddie Garcia, Trevor Davis and Ryan Harper each made numerous

saves for the Raptors, while Luke Castillo and Michael Davis contributed

on offense.
