Blackhawks clip Flyers, 5-4

Rebecca Koppel scored an unassisted goal in overtime last weekend to

lift the Blackhawks to a 5-4 victory over the Flyers in a Norris Division

contest played at the Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey Center in Huntington

Beach.

Koppel scored her team’s final three goals and tied the Flyers’

Jonathan Floren for game-high scoring honors, with three goals each.

Matthew Kibler and Brad Giczweski also scored for the Thrashers; Todd

Smith, Eric Pace, and Daniel Reed had assists; and goalie Jake Marsey was

credited with 20 saves.

For the Flyers, Matthew Seroka scored one goal, and goalie William

DeWitt recorded 25 saves.

In other matches:

Roller Rebels 5, Thrashers 1

Goalie Tyler Post stopped 22 shot attempts, Shaun Black scored three

goals, Tyler Bertrand scored once with an assist, and Kevin Caskey scored

once to lead the Roller Rebels.

Destiny Mills scored unassisted, and goalie Derris Douty had 19 saves

for the Thrashers, who did bounce back from that defeat to blank the Red

Wings, 4-0.

Red Wings 5, Lightning 4

The Red Wings came back from the 4-0 loss to the Thrashers to edge the

Lightning as Isaiah Jimenez scored two goals, Stephen Marchand scored

once with an assist, Michael Marchand and Cameron Weiss both scored once,

Brett Shaver had an assist, and goalie D.J. Mihalik had 24 saves.

David Daley scored twice, John Dachroeden and Aaron Nguyen each had

one goal and an assist, Christopher Powers had an assist, and goalie

Blake Easton stopped 18 shots on goal for the Lightning.

Crocodiles 4, Kings 1

Nathan Bergeron scored twice, Austin Shannon and Dylan Verrastro each

scored once, Conner Parks had a pair of assists, Trevor Horton assisted a

goal, and goalie Jeff Fuzzard had 19 saves for the Crocodiles.

Alex Borcich scored unassisted, and Kevin Christi had 17 saves in the

net to pace the Kings.
