SATURDAY
Dance with the sharks this Halloween weekend. The Shark Club will open
the doors to its Halloween Party at 8 p.m. at 841 Baker St., Costa Mesa.
Two dance floors, four full bars, 12 pool tables, a 2,000-gallon shark
tank and a midnight shark feeding are included in the festivities.
Visitors must enter by 10:30 p.m. The winner of the costume contest will

SUNDAY
Big band tunes on a Sunday afternoon. A musical extravaganza featuring
two bands will be staged at 2 p.m. at Orange Coast College’s Robert B.
Moore Theatre, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. OCC’s Monday Big Band,
Tuesday Big Band and special guest artists will perform. $5-$7. (714)

MONDAY
Catch Marilyn Ellis’ exhibit titled “Magic Realism” at the Newport
Beach Public Library before the monoprints come down Wednesday. The
library is at 1000 Avocado Ave. (949) 717-3801.
TUESDAY
Try this for an alternative Halloween. Borders Books, Music & Cafe
will present festivities at 6 p.m. that include a party and a Halloween
costume contest at 3333 Bear St., Costa Mesa. Professional storyteller
Laura Beasley will tell stories, and children can play games. The
first-place winner for the costume contest will receive a $30 Borders

WEDNESDAY
Andy Warhol in the fresh. Ciao Restaurant and Cypress Vineyards will
present an exhibition and silent auction of eight rare and original
screen prints signed and numbered by Andy Warhol, with a reception from 6
to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 223 Marine Ave., Balboa Island. Free. The
exhibit will run through Nov. 8. (949) 675-4070.
