COSTA MESA

Royce Lane: A $2,102 mountain bike was stolen from a garage in the

3000 block between 8:30 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

Adams Avenue: A collector of Ty Beanie Babies discovered about $1,000

worth of his stuffed items were stolen from a home in the 1300 block

sometime between Aug. 5 and Saturday.

South Coast Drive: Someone stole four amplifiers and a boom box from a

car parked at the La Quinta Inn in the 1500 block during the weekend.

Wallace Avenue: Someone smashed their way into a parked car with a

shovel and stole a $300 stereo in the 1900 block during the weekend.

Santa Ana Avenue: One very thirsty thief stole an 18-pack of Miller

Genuine Draft and an 18-pack of Budweiser from a Circle K in the 1600

block at 2:10 a.m. Aug. 13.

NEWPORT BEACH

35th Street/Beach: Not confident with the local pay phones, someone

brought their $100 cell phone along for a day at the shore and lost it

between 8 p.m. Aug. 24 and 8 a.m. Aug. 25.

Cape Andover: Someone broke into a house under construction and stole

$5,600 worth of sold brass handrails in the zero to 10 block between 6

p.m. Aug. 11 and 9 a.m. Aug. 14.

Cedar Street: Not able to find an ashtray, someone threw their lit

cigarette through an apartment window and burned a bedspread, causing

$200 in damages in the 200 block between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 23.
