Swimming: Harbor View tops Newport Hills
NEWPORT BEACH - Behind record-breaking performances from Parker
Stone and Heather Van Hiel, Harbor View Swim Club defeated Newport Hills,
748 1/2-571 1/2 in a dual meet Wednesday.
Stone broke the team record in the age 7-8 25-yard freestyle swim with
a time of 14.75. He also anchored Harbor View’s winning 100 medley relay team of Stone, Michael Liao, David Guilford and Alec Wilson. They won in
1:13.37.
Van Hiel’s record was in the 7-8 25 backstroke. Her 18.42 was a
winning time by over two seconds.
For Newport Hills, Garrett Gentry won two boys 15-18 races, the 100
freestyle (52.41) and the 50 butterfly (26.87). Kasey Kipp was victorious
in two 9-10 girls events, the 50 free (32.69) and the 50 backstroke
(39.77).
