Services will be held Tuesday for Balboa Peninsula resident

Dorothy Beauchamp, a volunteer and philanthropist.

Mrs. Beauchamp died Friday at age 83.

A pioneering resident of Newport Beach, Beauchamp began spending her

summers on Balboa Island in 1919. She and her husband, the late Robert F.

Beauchamp, moved to the island in 1956 and to the peninsula a few years

later.

Mrs. Beauchamp volunteered for organizations such as St. Andrew’s

Presbyterian Church and the Assistance League of Orange County.

She is survived by five children; two sisters; 17 grandchildren; and

16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew’s, 600 St.

Andrews Road, Newport Beach.
