Boys water polo: Newport second, CdM third at Uni tournament
IRVINE - Newport Harbor High’s 18-and-under boys water polo team
came in second at the University tournament last weekend, while Corona
del Mar finished third.
In their lone head-to-head matchup, Newport beat CdM in the fourth
game, 9-6. Sherwin Kim made 18 saves for CdM, which was led by Artie
Dorr’s two goals.
CdM won its first three games. It squeaked by ORCA/VP, 8-7. Marcello
Pantuliano had three goals, and Kim made 13 saves. CdM then pounded
Longhorn, 16-6. Pantuliano, John Mann, Michael March and Chriss Street
each had three goals. In its third game, CdM defeated La Canada, 11-5.
March and Street each scored three times.
