Our mayor simply doesn’t get it. Rather than provide the information

to the public that would declare his innocence, Dave Garofalo chooses to

attack, belittle or ignore anyone who seeks the truth in this whole

conflict of interest issue.

Just look at the way Councilman Tom Harman was treated at Monday’s

City Council meeting for an example.

Frankly, I’m tired of reading about how tough it is to be Dave

Garofalo, and I’m particularly incensed with all this name calling. Sorry

Mr. Mayor, but it’s not about political cronyism, Bolsa Chica, council

wannabes or small negative groups. It’s about the truth.

The truth is what everyone is asking for but getting no answers about.

How is the public to know what is going on when our mayor refuses to meet

or talk with the press?

Instead of crying about being lynched in the newspapers, if it were

me, I would open up all my financial dealings -- just to prove my critics

wrong. But this isn’t happening. Nothing is happening except a battle of

words.

It appears that the public can’t even depend on our independently

elected city attorney to get to the bottom of this mess.

However the mayor chooses to define his ethics, whatever his reason to

withhold information, whoever else might be compromised, our mayor owes

it to the public to tell the complete truth now.

We deserve no less.
