The community is invited to attend the 34th annual meeting of the Jewish

Federation of Orange County at 7 p.m. today at the Jewish Federation

Campus at 250 E. Baker St. in Costa Mesa.

Rabbi Shelton Donnell of Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana will be the

featured speaker. The 2000-01 board of directors and officers will be

announced.

The following Newport-Mesa residents will be installed as officers:

Newport Beach resident Charles Karp, president; Newport Beach resident

Blossom Siegel, vice president of major gifts; Newport Beach resident

Stacy Kaplan, secretary; Newport Beach resident Diane Karp, western

region women’s constituency vice chairwoman; Corona del Mar resident

Donna Weinstein, women’s division president; and Costa Mesa resident Hal

Kravitz, vice president of community development.

Board members include: Leonard Balis, Bill Cohen, Phil Kaplan, Mel

Lipson, Jeff Peddie, Stan Sackler and Jerry Werksman, all of Newport

Beach; and Esther Rose of Costa Mesa.

The event will also feature a graduation ceremony honoring the inaugural

class of the Jewish Advanced Leadership Institute, a program started this

year by the Jewish Federation and funded by the Community Foundation of

the Jewish Federation to develop the next generation of leaders for

Orange County’s Jewish community. The federation will also hold an awards

presentation.
