Beckman nets three goals as Ice Pups take Termites, 4-1

Travis Beckman scored his team’s first three goals and the Ice Pups

defense shut down the Termites in a 4-1 Adams Division victory Friday in

action at Coast 2 Coast Inline Hockey in Huntington Beach.

Kirsten Marony scored the other goal for the Ice Pups, Austin Clifford

had an assist, and goalie Conner Parks had 12 saves.

The Termites’ lone score was an unassisted goal by Chad Carpenter in the

opening quarter.

In other games:

Panthers 2, Wing Nuts 1

In a tight defensive battle, Mitch Robinson’s goal in the second period

proved the difference in the game. Panthers goalie Katie Goode had 15

saves.

For the Wing Nuts, Caitlin Apostol scored unassisted and goalie Eric

Grant stopped 24 shot attempts by the Panthers.

Kings 5, Blackhawks 3

Zachary Jennings scored the first three goals for the Kings, but goals by

Lauren Zike and Ryan Tyson in the third period broke a 3-3 tie and gave

the Kings the victory. Kings goalie Taylor Song recorded 19 saves.

Shayne Nelson scored two goals, Kelly Culhane scored once, and goalie

David Johnson had 19 saves for the Blackhawks.

Hurricanes 3, Lightning 3

Austin Locke, Sean O’Connell, and Michael Godinho all scored unassisted

goals for the Hurricanes, and goalie Dylan Heyden had 20 saves to help

preserve the tie; Brett Harper scored twice, David Abady scored once,

Gregory Hancock and Patrick Hudson each had an assist, and goalie Austin

Shannon recorded 16 saves for the Lightning.
