The Braves did things the hard way last week as they earned a pair

of one run victories in Majors Division play at Robinwood Little League.

They needed seven innings Saturday to subdue the Mets, 6-5. In the bottom

of the seventh inning, Kevin Powers, Todd Locken, and Cory Kotler each

drew a walk to load the bases before Stephen Powers produced a two-strike

single through a drawn in infield to score the winning run.

Stephen Powers also had an RBI triple in the first inning.

Locken picked up the pitching win by throwing four solid innings while

giving up just one run in relief.

Brandon Gladu had a two-RBI single for the Mets.

In shading the Cardinals, 3-2, Kotler had an RBI single, Bryan Komswiet

and Kevin Powers both had two hits, and Victory Ordonez preserved the

victory by throwing out the Cardinals’ potential tying run at the plate.

In other games:

Brewers 11, Dodgers 3

The Brewers overcame a 1-0 deficit by scoring four runs in the third

inning on singles by Scott Schauer, Daniel Jones, Josh Votaw, and Jaime

Swain. Jones led the Brewers on offense with a double and three singles,

Schauer doubled with two singles, and Casey Becker and Adam Duffis each

had two hits. John Kustura singled twice and Jeff Thorson singled, walked

twice, and scored two runs for the Dodgers.
