Cardinals take care of Astros, 6-2
The Cardinals used the long ball Saturday to get past the Astros,
scoring a 6-2 victory in Majors Division play at Ocean View Little
League.
Nick Mendoza started the game with a first inning home run, and Jeff
Mollica contributed to the Cardinals’ lead with a two-run home run in the
fourth inning.
The pitching of Brett Sterbens and Chris Palmer tamed the Astros.

Angels 9, Mariners 7
Andrew Zar matched three hits with three RBI, Justin Chambers had two
hits and two RBI, Thomas Burns had a single and RBI, Michael Cherf scored
the winning run in the fifth inning, and in a relief effort, Chambers
pitched shutout ball the final two innings to lead the Angels; Tomas Yoo
singled and doubled with two RBI, Andy Chersin doubled with two RBI, and
Dylan MacDonald doubled for the Mariners.
Reds 4, Dodgers 0
Jeff Van Doornum and Hank Conger both doubled, and Conger worked with
James Kang to record the pitching shutout for the Reds; Stephen Donahue
had two hits to lead the Dodgers.

Hank Conger smacked a two-run home run as the Reds remained undefeated.
Dodgers 6, Angels 4
Greg Gonzalez sent the Dodgers on their way to victory by hitting a
three-run home run (his third homer of the season) in the opening inning,
pitcher Stephen Donahue made the blast stand up by striking out 12 in six
innings of work, and Nick Bermel, Stephen Blue, Travis Geery, and Jeff
Lambert added to the offensive cause by getting two hits apiece.
Jon Grothe, who also threw three solid innings, had a hit and two RBI, to
lead the Angels.
Astros 12, Mariners 3
Dallas Walters hit his fourth home run of the year and also pitched three
innings, David Jacobs had two hits, and Kris Bernard doubled for the
Astros; Andy Chersin tripled and doubled, and also struck out seven in
four innings of pitching.
