Martin Duran was a perfect 4 for 4 from the plate Friday and the

Marlins were near perfect in defeating the Yankees, 13-1, in Fountain

Valley Little League Majors Division play at Mile Square Park.

A potent Marlin offense also included a double, triple, and three RBI by

Jessey Cordero, a single and double by Bobby Johnson, an RBI double by

James Menke, and RBI singles by Jeff Spirk and Mauricio Onofre.

The Yankees mustered four hits, singles by Philip Burden, David

McClelland, Roger Huffman, and John Larner.

Mariners 2, Royals 1

Tim Nash pitched a complete game one hitter with 10 strikeouts in the

defensive-minded game. In addition, Nash also doubled on offense.

Other key Mariner hitters included Octavio Gomez with a double and RBI

single, Ryan Buckles with an RBI double, and Joe Musser with a pair of

singles.

James Martinez singled in the first inning for the Royals, and Dustin

Jamison turned in strong effort in defeat, striking out seven in a

complete game.
