Orange Coast College ranked first in Southern California and third in the

state in the number of student transfers to state university systems

during the 1998-99 academic year.

During the 1998-1999 school year, OCC transferred 351 students to nine

University of California campuses and 1,104 to 22 California State

University campuses.

There are 57 community colleges in Southern California and 107 statewide.

OCC has ranked first in transfers among Southland JCs since 1996.

OCC was the top feeder institution to UCI and Cal State Long Beach that

year, according to statistics released this spring by the Chancellor’s

Office of California Community Colleges.
