We asked freshmen at Estancia High School what they thought about the new

high school exit exams that will be required by the district, beginning

with the class of 2003.

I think they are good to show what you know. They will show what you can

do in college. I wouldn’t be too worried about taking the exam. But that

depends on how hard the test would be. It also might be stressful to take

such an exam if you have other Advanced Placement tests to study for, or

if you have to study for finals.

ANANTH VARMA, 14

Costa Mesa

I wouldn’t be too worried. I don’t think that they are really a big deal.

As long as the teachers teach us what we need to know, then I think we’ll

do fine.

LINDSAY FREEMAN, 15

Costa Mesa

I wouldn’t be that worried about them. Teachers are here to help us. But

I think studying for another test around finals would be hard. We just

need to stay positive and do our best.

WENDY MURILLO, 14

Costa Mesa

I think they are going to be OK. I’m not too worried. I think if the

teachers prepare us like they have been, then we are going to do fine.

AMANDA ABBOTT, 14

Costa Mesa

I don’t think they will be too hard if teachers are teaching us what they

should be. I think it’s a pretty good idea.
