Men’s tennis: Lions roar into finals

SAN DIEGO - The Vanguard University men’s tennis team advanced to

the finals of the NAIA Region II tennis tournament with a 5-0 semifinals

win over Westmont Wednesday.

Peter Skrzeczynski and Martin Makovec each won in singles action, before

joining the rest of the Lions in a doubles sweep.

Vanguard, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA polls, will face Azusa Pacific in the

Region II finals today at 9 a.m. at Point Loma.

Skrzeczynski-Stromberg (VU) def. Magliolo-Lastoria, 8-6;

Ulfvebrand-Makovec (VU) def. Phillips-Annett, 8-5.
