Mets ride pitching of Parmenter, Barnes, in 5-1 win over Marlins
Pitchers Race Parmenter and Chase Barnes worked the Marlins
Saturday, allowing just one hit with no walks while striking out 11 to
lead the Mets in a 5-1 victory in Huntington Valley Little League Minor A
Division play.
Offensively, Kyle Ammons and Liam McGinn each had a hit and a pair of
RBI, and Stephen Toshiyuki had a hit and RBI.
The Marlins’ lone hit came from AJ Hicks, and pitcher Justin Draeger
recorded nine strikeouts.

Indians 22, Rangers 4
Karcher Morris hit three doubles and drove in five runs, and Justin
Thompson and Daniel Toledo each had two hits for the potent Indians;
Chris Ottens went 2 for 2 for the Rangers.
Yankees 10, Cardinals 4
Dane Sierra went 2 for 3 and drove in three runs, winning pitcher Terin
Marlatt went 2 for 3 and scored three times, and Nick Soresi went 2 for 2
for the Yankees; Tony Ciarelli went 2 for 3 with an RBI and Nick Becker
doubled for the Cardinals.
MINOR B DIVISION
Cubs 15, Diamondbacks 1
The undefeated Cubs’ Dave Folger’s two hits included an in-the-park home
run, Anthony Valenti hit a two-RBI double, both Daniel Tierney and Pat
Doran added key hits, and pitchers Nick Mazzone (winner), Folger, and
Ryan Little allowed the Diamondbacks just one hit, a single by Matthew
Jacinto, in the final inning.
White Sox 13, Yankees 11
Derric Romo went 3 for 3, Jeremy Carrillo tripled among two hits, Kevin
Hall went 2 for 2, and Alex Lowe picked up the pitching win for the White
Sox; Jake Gordon went 3 for 3 with a double, Drew Baumann belted two
doubles, Nick Refice had two hits, and Austin Rohaly doubled for the
Yankees.
Dodgers 20, Cardinals 1
Shawn Stiffler and Trevor Carberry both had doubles and pitchers Kord
Weber and Stiffer combined to pitch four scoreless innings for the
Dodgers.
Costa Mesa 8, HV Marlins 7
Huntington Valley’s Christian Slaton had two hits and also allowed just
two hits in two innings pitched, and Marlin catcher Barry Luke threw out
two base runners, but the Costa Mesa Devil Rays held on for the win.
