Tars tee off on Ayala

CHINO HILLS - Jake Allanach led the way with a two-under 35 in

Monday’s nonleague golf match with Ayala High at Los Serranos Country

Club, and Newport Harbor went on to complete a 399-443 victory Monday.

Allanach’s overall score for the 18-hole match was a 77, and he was

joined by Dan Kush (38), who combined with Traighe Concannon, for a 77,

as well as Kevin Olson (37), 78, Scott Tippett, 82 and Mitch Johns, 85.

The Newport five had a “break-out” day, according to their coach, Jim

Warren. Of the 45 holes played by the five, there were six birdies, 28

pars and 11 bogeys.

Newport improves to 3-0. Ayala falls to 2-1.
