Free low-flush toilets offered by water district
New toilets will be up for grabs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday by Costa
Mesa and Newport Beach residents who are customers of the Orange County
Water District.
To qualify for the free toilets, residents must bring a copy of their
current bill and a picture I.D. to the water district’s headquarters at
10500 Ellis Ave. in Fountain Valley.
The low-flush toilets, valued at $110 each, are designed to conserve
water, water district officials said.
The new toilets must be installed at the address listed on the water
bill. Each customer could receive up to three toilets.
In exchange, old toilets -- which are recycled and used in pavement
material -- must be returned to the water district by Feb. 12. For more
information, call (714) 378-3221.
