Rainfall adds to low yearly totals

Mother Nature wasn’t done with Southern California on Tuesday night,

dropping more needed rain on Orange County, which has had an uneventful

first half of the rainy season. It was just the third time in seven

months that the county has seen significant rainfall.

Tuesday’s totals amounted to about a half-inch of rain from the storm

that chugged through the area. There was another .12 of an inch that fell

after dark, causing several traffic accidents on Orange County freeways.

Forecasters said a storm brewing off the California coast will likely

fizzle by the time it reaches Orange County on Friday night.

The next five days aren’t expected to produce any rain, according to

reports from the National Weather Service.
